Crime and Punishment - Cultural Salon (1): Artist Talk
The 2024 Hong Kong version of Crime and Punishment brings the characters from 19th-century Russia to the present day, offering a reimagining of this literary masterpiece. The story depicts a young, impoverished ex-student who, possessed by self-righteousness, commits murder in the name of alleviating human misery, but ends up with a tormented conscience.
Dr Roger Lee and three of the main cast members - Cherry Ngan, Ben Yuen, and Peter Chan - will delve into the novel and the upcoming theatre performances. Together, we will explore the world of Dostoevsky and invite you all to join us on this thought-provoking journey.
