Theatre Workshop: The Action between Actor & Mask

Theatre Workshop: The Action between Actor & Mask

Performers search for diverging lines in their bodies, to interact and synchronise with space and body language through a mask. It leads them towards an exploration of more precise and simple movements, to feel the inner rhythms of the character, allowing for an organic clash between the performer’s perspectives and the character’s actions. And finally, that of the distance between performer and character, between audience and characters. Imagination may bring up more possibilities, including the relationship between body and space / interaction between mask and body.

This programme is presented by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, as part of the JOCKEY CLUB New Arts Power (2018 edition).
