Organised by this Section, the Theatre in the Mountain will arrange screening of Happy Together in February. Local film directors Amos Lee and Poon, Eric T.P. from School of Journalism and Communication will share their insights during a post-screening discussion, with simultaneous interpretation services available. *Synopsis

Happy Together
Ho (Leslie Cheung) and Lai (Tony Leung) are lovers from Hong Kong who have run away to live in Argentina. However, Ho is immature and unwilling to settle down, which makes Lai depressed. When they break up, Lai works as a doorman in a tango bar in order to save money and go home. After Ho is beaten and injured in an attack, Lai takes him to his apartment to recover……
This film won the Best Director award at the 50th Cannes Film Festival and was selected by the Hong Kong Film Awards Association as one of the "100 Best Chinese-Language Films."

#Introduction of guest speaker

Amos Lee is a Hong Kong director who, together with his team, has produced over 100 visual works and has won various awards. In 1998, he went to Argentina to shoot " Buenos Aires Zero Degree:The Making of Happy Together" a documentary derived from Wong Kar-wai's "Happy Together" It blends on-site recording, film clips, and reconstructed epilogues.
Returning to the filming locations, from Leslie Cheung and Tony Leung dancing tango together, sipping coffee on the street, to Wong Kar-wai whispering with the cinematographer, presenting a secret and lesser-known side of the film "Happy Together."
