"Colorful Breeze"——China's Ethnic Art Colleges Tour Gala: "Greeting from the Tianshan"
This special show features an elite cast from the School of Dance and the School of Music, Xinjiang Arts University. Presenting a panorama of splendid and diverse Xinjiang culture and art through highquality original productions.
The performance kicks off amid the timeless rhythms of the Muqam. The tambourine solo Harvest fires up the audience with its powerful, sonorous beats. The Tajik dance Affection for the Pamirs and Kazakh trio dance Spirited Plumes deliver a perfect blend of unrestrained vigour and gentle sentiment. Gilded Frescoes revives the peerless charm of thousandyearold murals with agile, graceful movements.
A medley of folk instrumentals and vocals brings together timeless melodies such as Why Are the Flowers So Red and Dance of Youth. The dance Makaiti Under the Sun has won two top honours — the China Lotus Dance Award and the national Wenhua Programme Award. Media recognise it as a phenomenal dance work that “broke through artistic boundaries”.
On 15 October, Greetings from the Tianshan Mountains journeys across mountains and seas, coming just for you.
