Peng Xiuwen was a pioneer of Chinese orchestral music. Pictures at an Exhibition presents the fantasyland of Modest Mussorgsky in the language of Chinese music arranged by Peng. His own composition, Terra Cotta Warriors, is an epic masterpiece depicting life in the Qin dynasty from its heydays to downfall.
