‘CUHK Culture Trail' Docent Programme

The Office of the Arts Administrator is recruiting student helpers as docents to lead 150-minute guided tours of the ‘CUHK Culture Trail’, and share information about the arts and architectural characteristics of the CUHK, as well as the culture and stories behind the campus.

Requirement

  • Full-time undergraduate students in any discipline;
  • Fluent in Cantoneseproficiency in English and/or Mandarin will be an advantage;
  • Proactive and willing to learn;
  • Good communication skills and enjoy interacting with the public;
  • Excited to lead tours conducted in outdoor;
  • Have a keen interest in and understanding of arts, architecture or culture; and
  • Available to the docent assignments on Saturday or weekdays.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • To lead ‘CUHK Culture Trail’ Guided Tours;
  • To introduce CUHK campus and cultural spots to participants;
  • To answer questions raised by participants during the tour; and
  • To handle any ad hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Working Location

CUHK Campus

  • Docents and participants will be standing and walking during the tour; and
  • ​A coach will be arranged to carry docents and participants to different destinations. However, some routes and spots take a walk.

 

Salary

HKD77/ hour (at least 4 hours for a tour)

 

Remarks

  • After initial screening, shortlisted applicants will be invited for introduction session and assessment;
  • Selected applicants must complete the introduction session and assessment to be formally admitted as a 'CUHK Culture Trail' docents.
