本科旨在讓一年級學生於主修學科外，能有機會接觸認識其他學科及知識領域。講題涵蓋文化、社會、學校及個人之不同領域，務求讓學生完成本科後，能夠對中國文化、香港社會、大學生活以致個人成長方面有基本之認識。
